Privacy policy
Ekhtemha is a stamp-card loyalty app for coffee shops in Lebanon. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Ekhtemha app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to support@ekhtemha.com.
1. What we collect
If you are a customer
- Phone number, used to sign you in with a code sent on WhatsApp.
- Profile details you give when you create your account: first name, last name, date of birth and gender.
- Card activity: the stamps you receive, the shops they come from, your rewards, and when you redeem them.
- Notifications: the notifications we send you, and the push address of your phone that is needed to deliver them.
- Device and diagnostic information: a device identifier, whether the phone is Android or iOS, the app version, and error and activity logs (for example that a sign-in or a scan failed). We use these to find and fix problems.
If you are a coffee shop owner or staff member
- Account details: your name, username and sign-in credentials, and the shop and branch you work at.
- Shop details: the shop name, logo, colors, loyalty program settings (rewards and discounts) and staff accounts.
- Activity: the stamps each person gives, rewards redeemed, and corrections such as an undone stamp with its reason.
- The device and diagnostic information described above.
On this website
The website does not use accounts or advertising cookies. If you use the sign-up form on the coffeeshops page, it only prepares a message for you to send to us. We receive what you choose to send, such as your café name, city, branches and phone or WhatsApp number. Our web host and font provider may log basic technical data such as your IP address when the page loads.
2. How we use it
- To run Ekhtemha: sign you in, record stamps, and show your cards and rewards.
- To send the notifications you expect, such as a new stamp or a reward.
- To keep the service safe, prevent misuse such as fake or repeated stamps, and fix errors.
- To help coffee shops run their program and see how it is used.
- To answer your messages and support requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who sees it
- The coffee shops you collect stamps at can see your name and your stamps, rewards and activity at their shop, so they can give and honor rewards. They do not see your activity at other shops.
- Service providers that help us run the service: our hosting and database providers, and push notification services (Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) that deliver notifications to your phone, and WhatsApp (Meta), which delivers sign-in codes to your phone. They process data only to provide those services.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
4. Camera and photos
- Camera. Shop staff allow the camera so the app can scan a customer’s QR code. The camera is used only to read the code. The app does not save photos or video.
- Photos. A shop owner can choose a photo from their phone as the shop logo. The app only reads the photo you pick.
- Notifications. You can allow or block notifications in your phone settings at any time.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your stamps, rewards and personal data. We may keep limited records where we must by law or to prevent abuse, and technical logs that are no longer linked to you.
6. Your choices
- Delete your account. In the app, open Profile and tap Delete account. This is permanent. You can also ask us by email, see the support page.
- Access or correct your data. Write to support@ekhtemha.com from the phone number on your account and tell us what you need.
- Notifications. Turn them off in your phone settings.
7. Security
We protect your data with technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and limited access. No service is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and your sign-in codes private.
8. Children
Ekhtemha is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top. If a change is important, we also tell you in the app.
